We will showcase your clothes in our store, handle the marketing and the sale, for a 30% commission and a small sign up fee.

How to Book a Consignment with Collective Closet

Booking your consignment with us is simple:

  1. Choose Your Timeframe: Select the duration you'd like your items to be showcased with our sign up fee—2 week for $69 or 4 weeks for $99
  2. Prepare Your Items: Gather at least 10 high-quality pieces to feature in our store.
  3. Download Zellr app & complete the Item list form: Fill out the provided form on Zellr app with the appropriate details of your items to help us manage your consignment efficiently. List the items at the price point you would like to sell your items, keeping in mind of the 30% comission Collective closet takes at the end of your consignment.
  4. Ensure clothing is in good condition & clean-:We kindly ask you ensure your clothing is clean and in good condition, for formal wear we ask you have dry cleaned prior to dropping off.
  5. Drop Off & Relax: Once your consignment is confirmed, bring in your items, and we’ll take care of the rest—display, marketing, and sales!
What types of items can I sell?

We accept high-quality used clothing, shoes, bags, sunglasses and other accessories. Items should be stylish, in great condition, and ready for resale. We recommend seasonal, trendy, and designer pieces for the best results.

How many items can I put in Collective Closet

What sets Collective Closet apart from other consignment or rent-a-rack shops is our focus on high-quality, well-maintained items. We’re passionate about giving your pre-loved clothing a second life in a new, loving home. While we welcome a wide range of items, we may feature your higher-quality pieces in our shop, ensuring they get the spotlight they deserve. Your other items can be showcased during our vibrant market days in the Urban Oasis, offering even more opportunities to connect with the right buyers.

What is included in the price of my consignment?

A small sign-up fee of $69 for 2 weeks or $99 for 4 weeks covers:

  • Dedicated space for your items in Collective Closet
  • Professional marketing of your pieces on social media
  • In-store display to attract the right buyers

Please note: This fee does not include shipping or cleaning services. We kindly ask that all items are in good, ready-to-sell condition at the time of drop-off.

When your item sells, you keep 70% of the sale price, and Collective Closet retains a 30% commission.

How is the 30% commission calculated?

A 30% commission will be taken on any sales of your items. This covers the marketing and sales effort we put into showcasing your products both online and in-store.

This will be managed through an app we use called Zellr. You'll have a live item list available on your phone, and each time a sale is processed, you can easily track your balance, reflecting the 70% revenue you've earned from each item.

At the conclusion of your consignment period, whether it’s 2 weeks or 4 weeks, your payment will be promptly transferred to your designated bank account.

Do I need to be present to sell my items?

No! Once you've dropped off your items, we’ll take care of everything— from displaying them to handling sales and customer inquiries. You don’t need to be in-store or online to sell.

All we ask is that your garments and items are clean and in good condition. For formal items, we kindly request that they be dry-cleaned before bringing them to Collective Closet.

The Zellr app will generate a list of your items, which will be converted into barcodes that we can print and attach to each piece. This allows you to easily track your sales through the app.

How will I get paid?

Once your items are sold, payment will be processed after deducting a 30% commission. We typically issue payments at the end of your 2- or 4-week consignment period. Throughout this time, you can track your sales and view your real-time earnings through the Zellr app with Collective Closet. At the conclusion of your consignment period, your balance will be transferred to your designated account.

Can I change my mind after booking a consignment?

We understand that things come up! You can cancel or adjust your booking, but please provide us with at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or changes to ensure we can accommodate your needs.

What happens if my items don’t sell during the rental period?

If your items don’t sell by the end of your consignment period, you can either extend your consignment period or retrieve your items. We recommend re-evaluating your inventory or bringing in new pieces for the next round! Additionally we may review the price point and discount, if happy to get the right market!

Can I rent a rack for longer than 2 weeks?

Currently, we offer 2 week or 4 week consignment options. However, if you're interested in a longer-term consignment, feel free to reach out to us, and we’ll see what we can do to accommodate your needs

How long can my clothes be in Collective Closet?

While our goal is to sell your items quickly, if an item doesn’t sell, we will keep it in our store for the agreed consignment period of either 2 or 4 weeks before returning it to you. If your item isn’t moving, we’ll reach out to discuss options such as adjusting the price or promoting it through our social media channels to increase visibility. We're also open to discussing extensions or special arrangements on a case-by-case basis, depending on store hours and demand.

Additionally, throughout the summer months, we’ll be hosting market-style events featuring live music and community activities, providing more opportunities to showcase your items and connect with potential buyers.

Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions

By consigning your items with us, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before entering into a consignment agreement.

1. General

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern the consignment of high-quality, high-end brand products ("Items") with our business.

1.2 We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective upon posting on our website.

2. Consignment Agreement

2.1 By consigning Items with us, you agree that we will act as your agent to sell the Items on a commission basis.

2.2 All Items are subject to our acceptance and must meet our quality and brand standards.

3. Item Condition Requirements

3.1 All Items must be clean, in good condition, and free from significant wear, stains, or damage.

3.2 Formal wear must be professionally dry-cleaned prior to consignment. Proof of dry cleaning may be requested.

3.3 Items not meeting these standards may be declined at our discretion.

4. Commission and Payment

4.1 You will receive a commission based on the final selling price of your consigned Items. The commission structure will be detailed in your individual consignment agreement.

4.2 The selling price of each Item will be negotiated with our staff to reach an agreeable amount that satisfies both Collective Closet and the consignor.

4.3 Payments will be made to you within an agreed amount of time after the sale of the Item.

5. Cancellation Policy

5.1 You may request the return of your unsold Items at any time with 24 hours' notice.

5.2 If the Item has already been sold, the sale is considered final, and cancellation is not possible.

6. Risk of Loss and Waiver

6.1 Once Items are consigned to us, we will take reasonable precautions to safeguard them. However, Items are consigned at your own risk.

6.2 Waiver: We are not responsible for Items that are lost, stolen, or damaged while in our possession or after they have been sold. We will not replace or reimburse for any Items under such circumstances.

7. Returns and Unsold Items

7.1 If an Item does not sell within the agreed timeframe, we may return it to you or discuss alternative options.

7.2 Any return shipping costs will be your responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the consignment or sale of your Items.

8.2 Our total liability shall not exceed the commission earned from the sale of your Item.

9. Governing Law

9.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
