Understand the Art and Technique of Lip Blushing Tattoo

Lip tattooing, also known as lip blushing, permanent lip makeup or lip micropigmentation, is a cosmetic procedure designed to enhance the natural beauty of your lips. This technique involves implanting coloured pigment into the dermal layer of the lips (top layer), providing a long-lasting solution for a perfectly shaped and defined lip contour. Whether you desire a subtle enhancement or a more vibrant look, lip tattooing can achieve a variety of aesthetic goals.

Superior Quality Pigments

At Beauty Collective Co, we prioritise quality and safety above all else. Tayla uses the highest quality Swiss pigments known for their stability and longevity. Unlike inferior pigments that may discolor over time, our Swiss pigments retain their hue, ensuring your lips remain beautiful for years to come.

The Sketching Process

Before any pigment touches your skin, we conduct an consultation and sketching process to design your ideal lip shape and color. Tayla will sketch out the proposed lip contour, working closely with you to achieve the desired look. This initial sketch serves as a blueprint, allowing you to visualise the final outcome. Your input during this stage will ensure that the result is tailored to your unique preferences.

The Numbing Process

We understand that comfort is a significant concern for many clients considering lip tattooing. Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the lips to desensitise the area.

The Healing Process

We include a complimentary Healite II LED session post-treatment to speed up the recovery process and amplify the results of your cosmetic tattoo. Not only will the LED help with the healing of your tattooed lips, it is also beneficial for your skin. LED technology stimulates the cells in your basal layer of your epidermis, increasing collagen and elastin production, as well as healing any blemishes or wounds.

You can add on a second Healite II for only $69, usually $130. The more you do, the quicker the tattoo will heal!

Pre & Post Care

Proper Pre & Post care is essential for ensuring the best results and longevity of your permanent makeup.

Here are some general pre-care tips to follow:

- Keep lips well hydrated with a lip treatment for the 48 hours beforehand, PawPaw ointment works well.

- Keep yourself hydrated for the 48 hours beforehand, try and drink at least 2L of water each day.

- Avoid alcohol for the 48 hours before your appointment.

- Avoid coffee the day of your appointment.

Here are some general aftercare tips to follow:

- Apply a thin layer of tattoo Bepanthen to the treated area as often as you can, for three-four days to help retain the pigment, promote healing and prevent scabbing.

- Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area with dirty hands for at least 48 hours to prevent infection.

- Avoid exposure to sauna, steam or any activities that may cause sweating.

- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least two weeks after the procedure to prevent fading and burning of the lips as it is considered a wound.

- Avoid using make-up or skincare products on the area until it has fully healed.

- Do not pick or scratch the lips, as this can lead to scarring and uneven pigment.

- Avoid swimming or soaking in the bath or hot tub for a week.
